Building Story

In 2018, the Community Cornerstone was gifted to Hope Church by the AZ-One Board. The Board recognized the desire of our church to reach the broken, wandering, and lost people of our community. They saw the potential that gifting this facility could be and unanimously chose to give us this generous gift.

Since taking ownership, we were able to finish a majority of the construction AZ-One had begun and utilize the building in a variety of ways.

In 2020, this facility began to serve a much greater purpose for Hope Church when we lost the ability to gather in the Marion Ross Theatre because of the pandemic. It became our sole facility for services, classes, and live streaming. We quickly knew that while it was a blessing it was not a long-term solution because the facility was not set up to allow for multi-generational ministry.

In February 2021, we purchased the adjoining building to the Community Cornerstone at 242 S. Broadway. This launched us into a building campaign & construction project to transform these two downtown buildings into one multigenerational ministry facility to serve our church and community.

Current Update

We are excited to announce renovations in our facility are moving forward! After countless hours of meeting with architects, engineers, and contractors, our plans are being submitted to the city for approval.

We have an exciting summer ahead of us beginning with returning to the Marion Ross Theatre (147 N. Broadway, downtown Albert Lea) and eventually having church in many outdoor locations throughout the city and region. Hope Kids will continue to be available with extended ages 0-12. Our summer service time will be one service at 10am unless otherwise noted. Once our facility is open, we will go back to our regular two services.

As we have been praying, we feel God has placed it in our hearts to leverage this opportunity to reach people throughout our community and beyond. As the weather begins to change we are excited to announce Hope Church is going on the move. This is an opportunity to bring Hope Church Sunday services to people in our community and the surrounding areas by putting our church on the road and offering kids ministry everywhere we go. We are so excited to develop more connections, more relationships, and more opportunities to reach lost people all across the region! This summer will be one to remember the church was never meant to be a building but rather people on mission for Jesus!
