Our LEadership
Meet our Board of Elders. The elders serve a dual purpose role, filling both board member positions required as a 501c(3) non-profit as well as elders providing leadership to Lead Pastor and the church body.

Steve Sizemore
Steve, 69, became a follower of Jesus while in high school. He lives in Lawrence,
Kansas, and has served as an elder at Hope Church since it was founded. Steve and his wife, Janice, have been married for 45 years and have three married children and 14 grandchildren. Steve primarily serves as a leadership coach and trainer and serves on a variety of boards.

Greg Noll
Greg, 67, became a follower of Jesus at a young age through the influence of his godly parents and grandparents. He lives in Newton, Kansas, and has served as an elder at Hope Church almost from the beginning. Greg and his wife, Cynthia, have been married for 47 years and have three married children and seven grandchildren. Greg serves as Executive Pastor and Elder at The Gathering Community Church in Newton, Kansas, and serves on a variety of boards.


James Petersen
James, 63, became a follower of Jesus as a young boy. He has lived in Albert Lea for 15 years and has attended Hope Church with his wife, Jennifer, for the past 10 years. They have been married for 41 years and have five married children and eleven grandchildren. James works for ReachGlobal, where he leads a team that provides personnel support and care for 500 missionaries serving around the world.
Lyle Godeke
Lyle, 69, became a follower of Jesus as a teenager. He lives in the rural area near Hollandale and has attended Hope Church with his wife, Joan, since 2017. They have been married for 42 years and have three married children and six grandchildren. Lyle is retired from his work as a service technician at the local John Deere dealership and now enjoys traveling, miscellaneous projects, and helping with mowing at the YFC Prairie River campground.


Nick Flugum
Nick, 45, became a follower of Jesus as a young boy through the influence of his godly mother and grandfather, who was a pastor. He has lived in Albert Lea his entire life and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Sarah, for 22 years. They have three children. Nick is a Senior Key Account Manager for The Coats Company.
Tim Stoneking
Tim, 33, became a follower of Jesus at a young age through the influence of his godly parents. He was born and raised in Albert Lea and has spent the majority of his adult life attending Hope Church. Tim has served on the worship team at Hope for the past 10 years, in addition to serving in other ministries throughout the year. He works as a carpenter. Tim and his wife, Erin, have been married for six years and have two sons.


Jared Knutson
Jared, 36, became a follower of Jesus at a young age. Through the influence of his parents and his upbringing, Jared developed a firm foundation of Christian beliefs and a deep love for the church and the body of believers. He has been part of Hope Church since it was founded and has served in many capacities. He currently operates a corn and soybean farm with his dad and three brothers in the Hartland area, where he has lived his entire life.
