Advertisements

Our final focus in the Media prayers is for advertisements. No matter who you are, ads are not something you can avoid. They are strategic in getting us to think, believe, or desire a certain way— subconsciously influencing each of us.

Today we acknowledge the influence of advertisements. We pray that in the massive world of marketing, that companies who value Biblical principles would continue to speak their voice into the marketing atmosphere. We pray for more billboards that would point people to your grace and truth. We pray for internet ads that help people discover salvation. We pray for radio ads to hold truth. We pray for newspapers to highlight life-giving churches. Lord, we pray for your hand to be upon entire marketing strategies, that the voice of believers speaking hope would shine through.

And for the ads that could be negative influences, help us to guard our hearts and minds from their influence when it could be misleading. Help believers to recognize the influence of advertisements when it comes to purchasing things so they can more intentionally be good stewards of their finances. Help us to turn our gaze when ads can lead our minds away from things that are Godly. We pray that the Word would be the foundation for our lives and that our decisions and thoughts would be shaped by truth and not just the loudest voices of our world.
